She is on her way!
Up at the crack of dawn, this morning to drive Jane down to Heathrow. A chilly 7°C and torrential rain all the way down to London which is a little different to what she’s flying into… the tail end of the rainy season and a high of 35°C today in Phnom Penh!
To be honest we were both a little worried about her check-in, this morning, because we’d packed a little more than we should – in fact we’d packed 30kg over Jane’s baggage allowance! But with a little sweet talk (and some cash) the airline let all her bags on. Great news because they’re literally stuffed full of books, pens, pencils, toothpaste and toothbrushes. Plus we vacumn packed all the clothes so we could get even more in!
I’m back home and tired after the drive but Jane’s still got a long way to go. She doesn’t land until 7:35am tomorrow morning in Kuala Lumpur, where she’s got a 2 hour stopover then a short flight to Phnom Penh arriving at 10:20am Tuesday morning. Then there’s a 2 hour drive to the Hope Agency in Bakod Village in Takeo province, plus Cambodia’s 6 hours ahead so when she finally does get to her destination I’m sure she’ll sleep well – even though she’ll be doing that on a small mattress on the floor!
